Easter Sunday is the greatest solemnity in the liturgical calendar.  It is the day we proclaim the glorious resurrection of Jesus and His triumph over sin.  For all of us, the next seven weeks are part of a journey designed to deepen our faith and to practice as Jesus instructs us through the coming Sunday Gospel readings:

Divine Mercy Sunday: The Mission of the Disciples – Our Mission.

3rd Sunday of Easter: Jesus Reveals Himself in the Breaking of the Bread – Recognize Jesus presence in the world.

4th Sunday of Easter: Jesus the Good Shepherd – Guide to Our Wanderings.

5th Sunday of Easter: The New Commandment – Invitation to follow Him.

6th Sunday of Easter: Understanding Jesus Words – Guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The Ascension of the Lord: The Mission of the Church – Giving Witness to Jesus. On the Feast of the Ascension we celebrate the entry of Jesus’ humanity into Divine glory in God’s heavenly Kingdom.

Pentecost Sunday: Receive the Holy Spirit – The Holy Spirit as Our Teacher. The Easter season concludes with the celebration of Pentecost when we commemorate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and the birth of the Church.
